Summertime greetings from the After Hours Big Band!

We’re getting ready for several summer shows, including two in July that will be fun to watch.

Most everybody knows about the Town of Newmarket’s Music in the Park series. These free outdoor concerts are presented at the Fairy Lake Amphitheatre just south of Riverwalk Commons, where there is plenty of room for people to stretch out and enjoy the evening breeze, the water and the music. You can bring your own chairs for extra comfort. The band’s date isThursday, July 7, starting at 7:00 p.m. We are all looking forward to this show!

On Saturday, July 30, the After Hours band will be featured for the seventh year in a row at the Newmarket Jazz+ Festival. As you may know, the festival – recognized by Festivals and Events Ontario as one of the top 100 festivals in the province – has expanded to the Ray Twinney Complex on Eagle Street. We’ll be playing at 3:30 p.m., not long before festival headliner Colin James goes to work.

The band has a number of new charts that really swing, and our singers George Marian and Jess Owen will be at their entertaining best.

Thank you for supporting After Hours! The person who handles our bookings is (guitarist) Stephen Harper, info@afterhoursbigband.ca
